It feels like quite a long time since we first saw the Graham replica Bullhead at BaselWorld this past spring. Now officially announced, this quirky new chronograph was inspired by the 1969 Seamaster Driver (aka the Bullhead) and sports only a few changes when compared to that original, and very rare, Tag Heuer chronograph. The Tag Heuer Seamaster Bullhead boasts an asymmetrical case that is somewhat wedge-shaped in profile. With the case measuring 43mm across, the chronograph controls are mounted at the top of the case (hence "bullhead") on either side of the main time-setting crown. At the bottom of the case, below six o'clock, is a crown that controls the internal reflector bezel. The pushers are now flat and wide, one of the few changes from the 1969 model that featured thin, rounded chronograph controls. Rendered in steel with brushed finishing and polished bevelled edges, the Tag Heuer Aquaracer replica Bullhead exhibits every ounce of quality that we've come to expect from Tag Heuer.
While the original model was powered by http://www.nalumar.com/ulysse-nardin-replica-uk.html's manually-wound calibre 930, the modern Tag Heuer Seamaster Bullhead gets an appropriately up-to-date engine. Featuring the automatic and column wheel-equipped Tag Heuer calibre 3113, the Tag Heuer Seamaster Bullhead has a power reserve of 54 hours and offers a date display at three. Water resistance is 150 meters and the sapphire crystal is finished with a dual sided anti-reflective treatment. In person, we found the case to be quite thick but the overal package to be completely charming. Tag Heuer had an impressive spread of watches to share at BaselWorld this year and the Tag Heuer Seamaster Bullhead stood out thanks to a quirky look, vintage presence and how well it exemplifies Tag Heuer's flare for commemorating some of the funky watches from their past.
This limited edition chronograph has a total production run of 669 pieces spanning either black or white and dial options. With a list price of $9,600 USD, the Tag Heuer Seamaster Bullhead has a lot of competition when it comes to watches of a similar price, but very little competition in terms of truly similar watches.Tag Heuer's many Planet Ocean fans are going to be happy with the addition of a GMT version of their favorite watch to the collection. Tag Heuer will will also release a few non GoodPlanet versions of the Carrera watch that we will cover soon. No pricing yet, but expect the GMT to be priced somewhere between the three-hand and chronograph versions of the Planet Ocean.
